myUsearch co-founder to speak at SACAC conference

The co-founder of myUsearch.com, Elizabeth Kudner, is scheduled to speak to college admissions professionals at the SACAC conference scheduled for April 18-21, 2009. Kudner will speak on the "Danger of College Search Sites - How to Protect Your Reputation Online". The session will help colleges understand how they can recruit students online without cheapening their brand. Many online college search services claim to match students to colleges and colleges to students, but their tactics can cause a deep frustration among students and can severely tarnish a college's brand. With this session, Kudner will help colleges understand the ups and downs of college matching services, how to choose a college matching service, and how to monitor and manage the prospective students delivered from college matching services.

And then there were COLLEGE VIDEOS
Colleges need to effectively communicate to students what they specialize in and what they're all about (their "message"). Students need information from the colleges in order to make an educated (no pun intended) decision about where they're going to go to school. So, with myUsearch not only are students provided with an unbiased college matching process, but to help students find the right college, we have also included college videos that will provide even more information both visually and narratively to help students with this decision.

This also helps colleges to properly communicate their "message" and make sure that the students that enroll in their college are students that are more likely to not only attend, but graduate from their institution. It also gives colleges the ability to put a face on the college by showing off their campus, classrooms, instructors and college students.

HELLO WORLD!!!
Change is-a-coming! myUsearch is now available to students across the world looking for the perfect U.S. college match, and we're going to change the way online college search tools work. "Oh, and how do you plan to do that?" For starters, colleges will not be able to advertise to unrelated students. Most sites are cluttered with advertisements (the scapegoat method for sites to generate revenue), but good luck finding these on myUsearch. We're going to provide students with relevant questions to TRULY determine a college match (no more "put in your zip code and.............ta-da.............your perfect college matches"). We list colleges regardless of whether they're paying us.  It's the only way to provide a truly unbiased service to both students and colleges.

No more open market for selling user's information, either. We're selective. We only work with colleges, and specifically with each user's matching colleges. It's all in the interest of our customers. They make myUsearch work, and we're dedicated to protecting what they want as a customer.
