All use of the myUsearch, LLC ("myUsearch") web pages are subject to the terms and conditions set forth below (the "Terms"). Any use of such web pages constitutes the user's agreement to abide by the Terms. We reserve the right to amend the Terms at any time by posting the amended terms on this site. The following terms and conditions apply to myUsearch.com and myUsearchblog.com ("myUsearch Sites").
Copyright and Trademarks
All content, including text, images, graphics, logos, links, button icons, and software, are protected under both United States copyright, trademark and other laws. All content is the property of myUsearch, its suppliers or clients. The myUsearch content may not be reproduced, transmitted or distributed without the prior written consent of myUsearch.
Security Rules
You are prohibited from violating or attempting to violate the security of any myUsearch Sites. These rules include, without limitation, 1) intercepting or accessing data not intended for such user or logging into a server or account which the user is not authorized to access, 2) attempting to probe or test the vulnerability of a system or network without prior written authorization from myUsearch, 3) attempting to interfere with service to any user, host or network, including, without limitation submitting a virus to any myUsearch site, or 4) sending unsolicited e-mail, including promotions or advertising goods or services.
Allowable Uses
myUsearch Sites are intended for, and may be used only for the purposes of seeking information about colleges, universities and post-secondary institutions, including the application process, financial aid, scholarships, and other such post-secondary research.
User Information
When you use the myUsearch Sites you may be asked to provide certain information including, without limitation, a valid address, email address and phone number (your "Personal Information"). In addition to the terms and conditions that may be set forth in the myUsearch Privacy Policy, you understand and agree that myUsearch may disclose certain information to third parties. myUsearch will not disclose to any third party your name or other Personal Information without your prior consent. Unless necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws, subpoena, or other legally compelled disclosure, your information can only be supplied to colleges, universities and post-secondary institutions based on the following criteria:
- The college, university or post-secondary institution was listed as a match after you completed the college questionnaire, and
- You did not choose to "opt-out" from the listed matching college, university or post-secondary institution.
myUsearch also reserves the right to use certain information provided by user for aggregate statistical purposes. myUsearch is not responsible for any data collection and practices of nonaffiliated third parties that are linked to from myUsearch Sites.
No Warranties, No Guarantees
The myUsearch Sites act as a venue for students and other persons researching higher education. myUsearch is not involved in the actual admissions process between students and colleges, universities or post-secondary institutions, or any transactions with advertisers appearing on the myUsearch site. As a result, myUsearch has no control over the quality, safety or legality of the offers, or the ability of colleges, universities and post-secondary institutions to offer admission. myUsearch makes no guarantees regarding admission or enrollment in any college, university or post-secondary institution. myUsearch services are for directional purposes only and should not be relied upon exclusively. You should always seek advice from college admissions personnel and high school counselors if you are unsure of your chances of admission to a particular college, university or post-secondary institution.
myUsearch is not responsible for the information or recommendations appearing on any blog, forum or chat room associated with any myUsearch Sites. You assume all risks associated with dealing with other users with whom you come in contact through any myUsearch Sites.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless myUsearch, its members, officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any claims, actions or demands, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising or resulting from your use of any of the myUsearch sites or your breach of these Terms. myUsearch shall provide notice to you promptly of any such claim, suit, or proceeding and shall assist you, at your expense, in defending any such claim, suit or proceeding.
